1. Do you work or are you a student?

Right now I’m a full-time student, but I also do a bit of part-time work on the side. I’m in my final year at university, so my studies are my main focus, but I tutor high-school students a few evenings a week. It’s a nice balance between academic life and the “real world”, if you like.

2. What subject are you studying, or what job do you do?

I’m studying computer science at a public university in my city. The course covers everything from algorithms and data structures to artificial intelligence and user interface design. On top of that, my tutoring job is related, because I mainly help teenagers with maths and basic programming, which ties in quite nicely with my degree.

3. Why did you choose that subject or job?

I chose computer science partly because I’ve always been curious about how technology works behind the scenes. When I was a teenager I loved taking gadgets apart and experimenting with simple apps. On a more practical level, I knew it would give me solid career prospects, so it seemed like the ideal combination of personal interest and long-term stability.

4. What do you enjoy most about your work or studies?

What I enjoy most about my studies is the problem-solving aspect. I love the feeling when you’ve been stuck on a bug for ages and suddenly the solution clicks into place. With my tutoring, the best part is seeing a student’s confidence grow over time; it’s genuinely rewarding to realise you’ve helped someone make sense of something they once found impossible.
