1. How many languages can you speak?

Well, I’d say I’m properly fluent in two languages, and I can get by in one more. I use my first language at home with my family, and English for most things like studying, entertainment, and keeping in touch with friends abroad. On top of that, I’ve got survival-level skills in another language, so I can handle travel and small talk, but nothing too sophisticated.

2. Do you enjoy learning foreign languages?

Yes, I really do, actually. There’s something quite satisfying about understanding a phrase you used to find completely mysterious. I also love how languages reflect a different way of thinking and living. To be honest, it can be frustrating at times, especially with grammar, but overall I find the process really rewarding and even a bit addictive.

3. What do you think is the best way to learn a new language?

I suppose the most effective way is a mix of daily exposure and active practice. What I mean is, you need constant input, like watching shows, listening to podcasts, and reading, but you also have to actually speak, even if you make mistakes. Personally, I think having real conversations with native speakers and getting feedback speeds up your progress far more than just memorising vocabulary lists.

4. Do you think it is difficult to learn a language as an adult?

It can be more challenging, but it’s definitely not impossible. Adults are usually busier and more self-conscious, so they worry about sounding silly, which holds them back. On the other hand, adults are often more disciplined and can use better strategies, like setting clear goals and tracking progress. So it’s harder in some ways, but you can still reach a high level with consistent effort.
