Describe a hobby or activity that you enjoy.

One hobby I’m really passionate about is urban photography, especially taking pictures of everyday life in my city. I don’t just snap random photos; I like to hunt for interesting light, reflections in windows, and those little moments between people that most folks would walk straight past.

I actually got into it by accident. A few years ago, I was given a second-hand camera by a friend who was upgrading his gear, and at first I just used it on holidays. Then one rainy afternoon, I went for a walk and started noticing how beautiful the reflections on the pavement were. I took a few shots, came home, edited them slightly, and to my surprise they looked quite striking. That was the turning point when I realised it could be more than a casual distraction.

These days I go out shooting at least twice a week, usually early in the morning before work or just before sunset, when the light is softer and more dramatic. On weekends, if I’ve got time, I might spend three or four hours wandering around different neighbourhoods, and in the evenings I often review and edit my photos, so in a way the hobby spills over into most days.

I enjoy it so much because it lets me switch off from stress and slip into a kind of flow state where I’m completely absorbed in what I’m doing. It’s also made me far more observant and appreciative of my surroundings; even a dull street can look cinematic if you catch it at the right moment. On top of that, sharing my work online and getting feedback has given me a quiet sense of achievement and a creative outlet I never knew I needed.
