Part 2

I’d like to talk about my cousin’s wedding, which was honestly one of the most memorable celebrations I’ve ever been part of. It took place about two years ago in a small coastal town where my aunt lives, and the whole event lasted an entire weekend, not just one evening.

In terms of who was there, it was a real mix. Of course, close family and relatives turned up from all over the country, but there were also lots of my cousin’s university friends, some of whom had flown in from overseas. What made it special was that everyone stayed in nearby guesthouses, so by the second day we all felt like one big extended family rather than separate groups of strangers.

As for what we did, the actual ceremony was quite traditional, but the reception was full of little personal touches. I helped decorate the venue with fairy lights and photos of the couple, and later on I was asked to give a short speech, which was nerve-racking but incredibly rewarding. After that, there was live music, dancing late into the night, and at one point we even had an impromptu sing-along on the beach with a guitar and lanterns lighting up the sand.

It’s so memorable for me mainly because of the atmosphere. There was this genuine sense of warmth and togetherness that you don’t find every day. On a more personal level, it was one of the rare occasions when my whole family was reunited in one place, and it reminded me how important those bonds are. Whenever I think back to that weekend, I feel a real sense of nostalgia and gratitude.
