Writing Prompt

The two maps below show the layout of a university campus in 2000 and how it is planned to look in 2030. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

In 2000, the campus was entered from a main road in the south, which led to a car park in the south-east corner. The centre of the campus was occupied by a single large teaching building, with a library to its west and a sports field in the north. A small canteen stood beside the library. In the 2030 plan, the car park has been removed and replaced by a new station for electric buses, and the entrance road has been made into a pedestrian-only walkway. The sports field in the north remains unchanged, but the canteen has been enlarged into a full student centre. A new science building has been added in the east, and the open space between the buildings has been landscaped into gardens with trees and seating.
