First, they could offer discounted annual passes or free-entry days exclusively for residents, reducing the financial obstacle and signalling that locals are valued. Second, curators should rotate exhibitions more frequently and design programmes linked to current social issues, local artists or community stories, so that each visit feels unique and personally meaningful. Furthermore, collaboration with schools, universities and local businesses can create regular events, such as evening talks, film screenings or markets on museum grounds, integrating these places into residents’ everyday cultural life.
